Who is Ben the Illustrator?
Ben O’Brien is a commercial illustrator based in Cornwall, UK, with a background including animating and directing music videos for labels including Sony Japan and Domino Records; Tshirt design; album sleeve design and illustration; editorial illustration for clients including The Guardian and Vice Magazine and advertising campaigns for clients including Smart Cars and Honda.

Ben works alongside his wife, Fiona, who manages their print and product stores, and the ever-popular Speakerdog Paper Toys project. Fiona has previously worked successfully in the advertising industry as studio and account manager for both boutique and major ad agencies in Australia.

Together they operate as a small design agency with Ben’s illustrative talent and Fiona’s strong project focus, alongside their accumulated creative spirit and pure enjoyment of any job.

Where do the print titles come from?
All the prints take their titles from song lyrics, they are as follows;

Mama Cass – ‘Make Your Own Kind Of Music’
Modest Mouse – ‘Float On’
Fatboy Slim – ‘Praise You’
The Polyphonic Spree – ‘Move Away And Shine’
Pulp – ‘The Trees’

What is a Giclee Print?
A Giclee is a recognised and collectable category of fine art print using fade resistant 8 colour “archival” inks.

Giclee (zhee-klay) – The French word “giclquot; is a feminine noun that means a spray or a spurt of liquid. The word may have been derived from the French verb “gicler” meaning “to squirt”.

What kind of paper do you print on?
We print on Hahnemuhle Fine Art paper 308gsm. The prints are surrounded by a 25 mm (white) border for perfect framing.
How much is postage?
All prices include package, handling and delivery costs. Orders can be sent globally.
How long until I receive my print?
We will endeavour to deliver within 28 days.
How will you send me my print?
All prints are carefully packaged in tissue paper and placed in a postage tube.
  • Please note that all of our packaging materials are recycled. When you receive your print, please try and reuse our packaging however possible.

REFUNDS ARE GIVEN IF THE PRINTS ARE RETURNED IN THEIR ORIGINAL STATE, WITHIN 30 DAYS.
